It was also a great time to get some shopping done. I spent WAY too much money, but very little of it was what I would consider "retail therapy". Most of it was spent on food, since the price of food in small-town Manitoba (North of Winnipeg) is considerably more expensive than what I'm used to. While there however, I decided to grow my "family" and have adopted a cat. She's a beautiful 3 year old short hair. She has neat colouring being mainly brown-black tabby but also have spots of orange and white about her with green eyes. Since it looks like someone dropped bits of colour onto her, not unlike ink-spots, I decided to call her Quill. At the moment she's none too thrilled with me for trying to give her deworming pills. (keyword = trying, result = failed) That said, she has wandered throughout the house and has already claimed both my favourite afghan and prayer shawl. I think she's quickly accepting that this is her new home and that she's trying to teach me that she's the head of the house. I'll post a picture in a day or two, but at the moment I must finish my sermon for tomorrow.

to give the cat a pill....
ReplyDeletetake a fork, and rake viciously up and down your arms.
Go out to the nearest field, and throw a towel over the eyes of the largest cow you can find. Try to hold on.
Take the pill yourself and pet the damn cat.
lmao! So true! She actually didn't scratch though, or bite either. I'm quite impressed with her. It took a bit of work but in the end, I got my way. :)
